Day 16: Preparing for Transfagarasan
There will be only a short post today, since I got no Wifi and have to type this on my mobile phone. Also nothing much happened.
This morning I cycled to the old city center of Sibiu. The city is quite nice and has some beautiful old buildings as well as some cafes and restaurants. Since I was still tired from yesterday I decided for the cafe option first and explored the city afterwards.
I will add photos once I have a proper network connection.
While leaving the city I stopped to get some new shorts, "anti friction cream" and vaseline. Today I only tested those for allergic reactions in my arm pits and tomorrow I will find out if they really help while cycling.
The 50km to the entrance to Transfargarasan were mainly big roads and not a lot of fun to ride. The view of the mountains was great though.
And I am happy tomorrow I can start the climb right away and then have all day to do it.
Just now it actually rained a little bit. But this just caused more humidity and did not bring down the temperatures.
The rest of the day I will just relax and eat to have energy for tomorrow.
Good luck on the transfargarasan! It's on my bucket list for my motorbike trips:)

Try to not do it on a weekend or start early in the morning, so you don't end up in a traffic jam :) Other than that: Yes, it is probably a lot of fun on a motorbike.
Deletethanks for the tip :)
