Day 22: A case of exploding yoghurt

This morning I started with a small visit of the old part of Constanța. And I have to say: I booked a hotel in the wrong part of the city. There are some beautiful buildings there. After finding my way through the one way streets I also visited the old abandoned casino which is now being renovated.

Then I continued my way south. Or at least tried to do so since I was soon caught in a very slow moving traffic jam. At one time I was quite bored and found a goat standing next to me on the side stripe and staring at me. So I stared back and started making faces at it until an old man on the opposite lane started laughing at us.

It took a long time for the traffic to get less dense.

Around Mangalia the towns have very strange names. Only there a sentence like: "I am from Jupiter and my girlfriend is from Neptun and in October we move to 23. August" makes any sense.

Vama Veche

Right before the bulgarian border I paused in Vama Veche. This seems to be some somewhat alternative and more creative holiday destination. I rested at the beach and tried to go swimming, but the ground was full of stones and there were some waves, so it was not much fun. After that I tried to continue on a small path which soon ended in wilderness, so I had to return. Only to notice that I had two flat tires. After cycling 2700km without a single flat tire, one mean plant punched holes into two tires. Thank you.

There used to be a path....

The areas I have cycled in Bulgaria are quite nice. The first part seemed like a mediterrainian Sweden. And now I am at the Thracian Cliffs which look like Dover. After arriving at the camp site I was now finally able to swim in the Black Sea :) As always: Pictures will be added once I have Wifi.

P.S.: Completely forgot about the yoghurt: When I unpacked my stuff I noticed, that a yoghurt (I had forgotten I had bought) had exploded in between all my luggage. So I had to clean quite a lot of it.
