Day 41: Island hopping

This morning I cycled to Biograd. When I arrived I saw a ferry just leaving. But it turned out that this was a special transport and not the regulary ferry. The original timetable was for my ferry to leave at 11:00, but since there was much traffic leaving the island it already sailed at 10:00. I had to wait for only 20 minutes. Just long enough to get a coffee.

The islands were quite nice with many coves and small towns. Most of them were touristic, but there were also some fishing boats. While cycling I tried to find any space with some shadow near at one of the beaches, but failed to do so since for whatever reason all other people had the same idea.

The weather was very sticky, high humidity and some clouds looming in the background that looked like they might bring some rain later.

Finally some cloud brought some shadow that I used to rest for a while and eat.

Some more cycling later I saw the ferry for returning to the mainland docked im the harbour. At first I didn't notice any activity and decided to cycle on in a relaxed pace, but when I got nearer I saw cars driving onto the ferry. That's when I decided to panic, rush into the ticket store and onto the ferry. Only to have to wait for 10 more minutes until the ferry really departed.

The ferry arrived in Zadar. The city was ok, but not more. Somewhere on the internet I had read that this is a city you must visit. Perhaps I haven't seen the best parts, but I thonk differently. But Nin (the next town) was very nice (allthough tiny).

For some time I had wondered why the routing goes inland from here on and today I saw the reason: Mountains. Still I will have to climb 700 m in the first 30 km tomorrow with temperatures going up to 37°. Meh.
