Day 50: Island hopping

This morning I went the same way from Venice to Lido I had come two days earlier. Hire a Porter and take the ferry back to the Lido island.

From there I cycled to the end of the island with a nice stop in between.

Lido is supposed to have beautiful beaches, but they are all fenced off. So I continued to Pellestrina with the next ferry.
Pellestrina is a much less touristic island where a lot of fisherman live and in my opinion also much nicer.

From there I took the boat to Chioggia. This was one of the small boats I was not allowed on last time, but this time it was not an issue.

When you arrive in Chioggia it looks a bit like a smaller edition of Venice.

Since there are no accomodations in the Po Delta national park and I didn't want to just rush through, I decided to stop before crossing it. Rosalina Mare was the last place having any camp sites. So I went there. The first (smaller) camp site I checked was already full, so I have to stay on the huge main camp site where you get a waiting number when checking in and a guide on a bicycle to guide you to your camping spot.

I had hoped high season had ended, but it seems on a sunny weekend this is not the case.
From tomorrow on I'll leave the adriatic coast and travel inland. Probably accomodation will be less of an issue from now on.
