First of all I probably should stop complaining about the lack of rain :( All the best to those affected by the floods. Who have lost loved ones or their home. I am really sorry for that.
At the same time I find it rather depressing that we, as a society, only start to change once enough deaths happen close to us. This is exactly what we were told to expect from climate change. But still cars keept getting bigger and coal is still getting used a lot. Let's just keep producing CO2 and killing people :( This is just the beginning.
Is there any proper transition to writing about a cycling vacation? I guess not. Or perhaps: Do a cycling vacation instead of flying anywhere. It saves CO2 and it is fairly cheap (if you don't insist on doing it with a velomobile). And with an electric bike almost everyone can do it.
So today I started in Reghin. The first part on the main road was very fast and very much fun. With everything fixed going was much smoother than before. Later I left for a smaller roads. And I have to say: the romanian landscape it really beautiful and often changing.
My first goal was to get to Sighișoara. But when I arrived I found out that I could not cycle into the historic center of the city and I didn't want to leave my bike in a parking space. So I continued towards of Sibiu. My original plan had been to split the tour to Sibiu into two days, but then I noticed that there weren't any accomodations on the way there so I decided to just go all the way.
When I relaxed a bit after lunch Nicolai found me.

Nicolai and some strange bearded guy

He had received a video of me cycling an hour earlier from a friend. So this is how I now got my hands on one of the videos people keep shooting of me:
Watching the video is interesting for me, because I almost always look at my velomobile from the front. But the cars almost always only see my back ;)
After continuing along the way I soon found out, that this trip was a bit long. And after one of the climbs instead of cooling on the way down again I ended up in a 20km construction site where most of the road way only gravel.
Close to the end of the trip I encountered this:
It must be some kind of special cloud to get that kind of lighting.
At the end I had cycled 216km. This was a bit much for me, because I now have some raw thighs. Because of that I will not do much cycling tomorrow. Instead I will look at Sibiu and try to find better cycling trousers and some ointment. If that helps I will try to cycle Transfargarasan the day after tomorrow.
