Here we go...

Today I finally started cycling.

The last few days were a bit hectic and chaotic with a lot of things to decide and organize. Still there is a lot of uncertainty on the route. I will be able to get to Turkey, but after that things get tricky. Rules for entry to Georgia are somewhat confusing, Azerbaijan still only allows football fans to enter the country. And Russia only allows entering the country with a direct flight. But I will worry about this, when I get there.

Today I was happy to hit the road. I started late (after some more tidying up in my flat) and had a long brunch with a friend.

So I was only able to cycle a bit more than 100km reaching the Arendsee. Since I know almost all roads from other cycking trips it does not yet feel like anything special. I guess that will change over time.

The weather was quite bad. I had rain most of the time. But still more enjoyable than the 30+° of the last weeks.
